Not asleep yet, but will be before long.

This one has the more comfy perch, and is already asleep. I love the head tucked under the wing.

My eighth entry on Photoblog was photos of a Carolina wren that had decided to spend the night under our porch roof. That was back on January 8.

Last night, I noticed not one, but two Carolina wrens settled in for the night - one on each corner of the porch. Unfortunately, it was too dark for me to take photos. They stayed the entire night, but left before it got light enough for me to get out the camera.

They came back tonight, and I saw them when it was still light enough to take photos. While they're not the best quality (I had to shoot through the window, the second one a good distance away), I'm happy with them. If I had opened the front door, they probably would have flown off, and I didn't want that.

This may sound silly, but I love it when stuff like this happens. It's as if they're comfortable enough with us to get this close.
